Abstract

The presented work is devoted to the problem of studying the views of Russian historians on the topic of the partisan movement of the war of 1812. The purpose of the work was to study the role of partisan detachments in the Patriotic War of 1812 in the works of both contemporaries of these events and later authors. To achieve this goal, an analysis of the significance of peasant and army partisan detachments in the exile of Napoleon and the Great Army from Russia was carried out in the works of historians such as V. M. Ochotosnoy, W.B. Ochirov, D. I. Akhsharumov, D. P. Buturlin, A. I. Mikhailovsky-Danilevsky, M.. The relevance of this topic is that the partisan movement is often a rather controversial component of any war. The campaign of 1812 was no exception. Often, researchers have differing opinions and views about the role of partisan detachments in defeating the French enemy. This leads to the need for a more thorough and versatile study of the literature and sources on the topic presented.
