Abstract
The article is an original research within the framework of the topic "The role of personality in National history". The figure of consideration is Sergey Semenovich Uvarov in the framework of the history of the Russian Imperial Academy of Sciences. A wide corpus of the source base is used for the analysis, namely unique archival documents.
