The role of G.I. Nevelsky in the historical development of Sakhalin Island and the fate of the Far Eastern lands

Abstract

The article discusses the problems of G.I. Nevelsky's contribution to the development of Sakhalin Island, as well as all the Far Eastern lands in general. A wide body of sources on this topic of a very different nature is analyzed. The evaluation of the results of the activities of the Russian administrative in the 40s - 50s of the XIX century is given.
