THE PROBLEM OF THE TRANSLATION AND ADAPTATION OF INDIAN SONGS AS A PART OF THE FILM SCRIPT FOR RUSSIAN-SPEAKING VIEWERS
Abstract
Indian songs as a phenomenon are of great interest to both linguists and philologists, as well as for culture researchers since they are characterized by incredible verbal constructions, vivid imagery and metaphor. In addition, songs in Indian feature films are also part of the script. They can continue the characters' lines and explain or expand the plot, and also they play an important role in revealing the characters: through the song, we can more clearly imagine the inner world of the heroes and get to know them better. Indian movies often gain their popularity because of songs. In India, in particular, the culture of songs from Bollywood movies is highly developed. Songs from popular Indian movies are known and loved by almost all Indians.
The study of Indian songs as a phenomenon is becoming relevant as one of the methods of teaching the Hindi language.
