Migration tendencies: migration as a global challenge for Russian Federation

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the modern tendencies of international migration which is provoked by the increasing processes of globalization and the analysis of its impact on the political, economic and social stability of the host states. The author analyzes the approaches and opinions of modern states related to the phenomenon of migration. A number of problems and threats caused by the intensification and dynamics of the modern migration flows was indicated, including: the problem of social and cultural adaptation of migrants, illegal migration, violation of human rights and social guarantees for migrants, increased movement of nationalism and xenophobia, etc. Also, the main issues of implementation of an effective migration policy, improvement of a legal regulation and protection of human rights and freedoms of migrants in the Russian Federation were considered and discussed. As a result of the conducted research, the main principles and approaches were developed in order to avoid and reduce potential risks and threats for the Russian Federation in the field of migration policy.
