Migration as a factor influencing political decision-making

Abstract

Migration is a serious problem for the modern world community. It is global in nature and affects decision-making in all areas of State activity. There are many reasons for migration, from simple move to relatives, to complex forced displacement due to violence, harassment, and a number of other factors. On the world map, we can see a large number of points of tension related to migration crises in different parts of the world. The article examines the regions from which mass migration occurs as a result of conflicts, escalating violence, and economic and political instability, in particular, Syria, Myanmar, and Venezuela. In the course of the work, a comparative analysis of the migration situation in these countries is carried out, and the impact of migration on the policies of these countries and their neighbors is considered. The phenomenon of migration leads to positive and negative consequences for international stability. The content analysis of the sources on the topic under study showed that the impact of migration is mostly negative, since migration contributes to an increase in the growth of crimes, offenses, the appearance of unemployment and the critical attitude of indigenous people towards migrants. States pursue policies aimed at resolving the problem both within their borders and within the framework of international organizations. Migration has become one of the reasons for the uncontrolled spread of the Covid-19, which has exacerbated the issue of migration and revealed the need for cooperation between the countries of the world to resolve it. The migration factor has a huge impact on political decisionmaking, jeopardizing the preservation of order and security in society.
